Well, Thanksgiving has passed. Hope it was a good one for you.
It seems that at every gathering there is that one family member or friend that rather than bringing a dish to share, they just bring the tension. And ice…somebody has to bring the ice. And if you’ve never seen this in your family, that person might be you…lol
So for that one, I have a message for you. If you want to be known as generous, loving and kind, put it on. Wear it until it becomes you. What? Say you don’t want to be fake? I get that. I also get that if you want to be mad, you’ll put that on. If you want to be hateful, you’ll put that on. You’ll even put on a hardness toward the one God sent to bless you.
I’m telling you that if you’ll change your attitude, you’ll change your life.
You can do it. I know you can. Did you know that the Bible tells us to “put it on”?
The Bible says in Colossians 3, “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience"
So if you’re calling yourself a Christian today, put it on. Being a Christian calls us out from the world to a place where we can live in the will of God.
Stop being stubborn and self-destructive. Stop allowing things in your life that keeps you from the blessings of the Lord.
I’ll even give you a jumpstart. Try thanking somebody today…even if you don’t want to. And, even if you think they don’t deserve it.
Have a great weekend.
