Veterans Day

“I guess I do it for her,” he said, pointing to his wife, “because it’s, (cancer), got me." Smiling at his bride, he said, "But I got fifty-one years with her.” He said, “I still wake up a lot of nights and I’m there, (Vietnam). She and I both have had to work through a lot.”
He was drafted, forced into war. And it hasn’t ended. But according to him, it’ll be over soon. Sadly for some, that war never ends. I did all that I could think to do in the moment. I thanked this American hero for his service.
There are too many with stories like his.
Like so many others, I have not served in the military but, I have infinite respect for those who have and do. This conversation reinforced that feeling. Great men and women serve all of their lives, for the effort of that service never ends as they suffer pain and disability, not to mention the sorrow filled memories of those brothers and sisters that were lost. Yet for most, they have no regrets. Freedom is indeed, not free.
While surrounded by uncertainty daily, we have constant reminders to celebrate the sacrifices of men and women, families who gave all. And, are still giving. I guess I could’ve waited to post this. But, if you are reading this today, thank you. Please know that because of you, I am extremely proud to be an American.
For that, I am eternally grateful. Happy Veteran's Day!
God bless you, dear friends, and God bless the United States of America!

Just a thought:

Why should we base the opinions of ourselves on what other FLAWED people think of us?
If you are a believer, who you are is in Christ and people judge who He is by how they see Him in you.
We tell people our names…but we show them what to call us! 😔

Have a great Wednesday !

Weekly Encouragement

11/9/25

written by Frank Gupton

A joyful heart will improve your health , spiritually, emotionally and physically.  So fill your mind with thankful thoughts till your heart overflows with joy.  Take time to give God praise, the One from whom all blessings flow!  Let Him fill you with His Light and His Love.  Proverbs 17:22 "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."  Be of good cheer!

Good Sunday evening!

We’re closing in on what has been a great day of worship. We had fellowship with friends as we celebrated Jesus.

Don’t usually do much on Sunday afternoons but today, I read as praise report after praise report came in testifying of the goodness of God as folks were being healed and revived. Oh, my! It has been a fantastic day.

Then, as I scrolled through the many video clips of Charlie Kirk’s memorial and an awesome worship service, it dawned on me that I could have possibly been hearing the sound of potentially the whole world singing as Brandon Lake led them in Gratitude.

I’m sure there’s a point in every concert, no matter the artist, where the crowd joins in but to think that the whole world may have unified just long enough to sing their praises to the Lord is a blessing and reason for hope.

Only God can do that!

You are correct. This pastor believes that even in the darkest moments, he can find reason to praise the Lord. If Jesus does nothing else for me, He has done enough.

“And I know it's not much
But I've nothing else fit for a King
Except for a heart singing hallelujah
Hallelujah!”

If you haven’t been told today, Jesus loves you!
