I think I will start my prayers by asking the Lord to help me remember that I am not that big a deal.

Only then can I start my day fresh, with a mind clear enough to work.

Doing this is, I believe, an exercise in humility rather than a confession of unimportance. Every man is important—a significant part of the body, a vessel fit for good use, a powerful influence. He should do all things necessary that he might be respected in due course.

And anyone who persists in putting him down does so to their own undoing. It is often because he has already risen above.
\
A man is rarely attacked by people who are doing better than he is. Jesus was attacked because of His perfection.

People will also bring you under attack when you become a threat to their comfort. Daniel was attacked because of his integrity and favor with God.

There are lots of things in today’s world that you can do nothing about. Focus on what you can.

So don’t worry about them. Worry about who you are before Him.

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
