Confidence

Philippians 4:9, “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”
The apostle Paul, in his final exhortation to the Philippian church was talking about the example that he’d tried to leave for them.
1 Corinthians 11:1, “Do as I do, for I am doing as Christ did.”
It takes a confident man to tell people to just live as he lives and they’ll be okay. But Paul had figured out pretty quickly, much sooner than believers of today, that faith in Jesus must be the cornerstone of all things. If we’re going to have a dependency, it has to be on Jesus.
How about another one? This guy was a king. Somebody was always on his tail. In Psalm 4, David wrote about a very difficult time I his life. This time his son was after him. But in V. 8, David said that when he laid down, he didn’t have to worry because he KNEW God was with him. Confident.
So when you have a tough day, and we all do, please understand the value that you hold in the lives of those that depend on you. Believe it or not, you are somebody’s example of confidence and it’s that example that gets them through. Yeah, I know. It’s nice to hear every now and then. Just look for it. Some things go without being said.
If you need a break, take one. Put some space between yourself and the difficulty around you and just breathe. Clear your mind and tell Jesus that you depend on Him. He likes to hear it every now and then, too. And with His help, you will be the best example of a Christian life that you can be.
Have a great Friday! Go to church Sunday. Plan it now. 😀
