Let’s talk about God’s gracious gift of righteousness through Jesus Christ.
Righteousness is a legal term. It means to have right standing before God. It’s defined as “that gracious gift of God to men whereby all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are brought into right relationship with God.”
In other words, your right standing before God is based upon Jesus’ right standing before God. Romans 5:17, 21, “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” And, “so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
In Romans 10, Paul speaks of grace reigning through righteousness, of the service of righteousness, and of submitting to God’s righteousness. God transforms those whom He declares to be in the right.
Joseph Prince said, “Hey, when you reign, your addictions don’t. When you reign, sicknesses don’t. When you reign, fear, depression, and every obstacle that is obstructing you from living your life to the fullest will be torn down and flushed out!”
We’ve all heard of working for the weekend. Why can’t we be working that every day the Lord gives us is considered good, right and worth living. Stop living in those temporary situations with temporary people.
I don’t know what it is that you call it, but your junk will not make it to heaven so you’d just as well get rid of it now.
It’s time to get it done.
