My watch lights up with a message every morning when I pick it up to put it on. Sometimes it gives me a simple “Good morning” or “Hello.” Today it said, “Ready to roll?”
Now apparently, it doesn’t take much to impress me, lol. But it does remind me that a simple, positive message can make all the difference in how your day goes.
The Lord wakes me most mornings before anyone else. Could be because I go to bed before anyone else. He is my influence and impact. Starting my day with Him, it makes the tough stuff or the stupid stuff even, easier to muddle through.
Then, I go for a run. Yep, old preachers need exercise. It’s a defense against the enemy of aging. Every day, we need time in the Word and a long walk.
Do something today that you want to do. But, don’t waste it by doing nothing. The charge for this Monday is to do whatever it takes to re-focus and recharge. One thing I found after retiring was that I didn’t take that few minutes often enough. We can’t be “on” all the time.
You don’t have to be an old preacher to know what happens when you get out of the flow.
Just a few minutes.
And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” -Mark 6:31
Now, I’m ready to roll!
Hope you have a great Monday!
-Pastor Butch
