Isn’t it amazing how we get stuck in a place where we want “different” but are unwilling to change what we’re doing to get there?
The Lord said through the prophet Isaiah: “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”
We don’t perceive it as impossible for God to plant roads in the wilderness or rivers in the desert. It’s easy for us to imagine His wanting a new thing, something different. He speaks it and it is.
Little different for us.
When I was a boy, we made trails in the woods. We used shovels, mattocks, and saws. There was work involved, sweat and, it was fun.
Our roads were paths cut between the neighbor’s yard and ours. We loved the coolness of that black dirt on the soles of our feet.
So how bout today you go out barefoot! Take a chance on a bee sting! Get your feet dirty! No matter how old you are!
I know the Bible tells us to put away childish things but it didn’t say to replace them with stiffness and an opposition to having fun!
Enjoy life. Take some chances. Do a “new” thing.
Live!!!
