“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” Galatians 6:7
As life does life, we don’t often recognize our neglect to the service of the Lord. We tend to get so caught up in our own stuff, that the things that really matter get kinda lost. You should know that God sees where our attention is focused and grants blessings accordingly.
We reap what we sow and it’s because of this that it’s very important that we prioritize our obligations and give sway to that which adds value to our lives and more importantly, the lives of others.
I’m trying to plant a seed into your thinking today. Sometimes we have to wait for the result and a lot of times we, not God, will hurry things along or take on more than we can handle. That makes the harvest less than what it could’ve been.
I think that in its simplicity, we miss what Paul is telling us. Though it is true that we reap what we sow, the effects of it can be lingering. This is why it is best that we be obedient to the Spirit as it will save us a world of trouble.
We can’t eat the apple before planting the tree. The runner doesn’t accept the trophy before the race is run. We must learn to look past the work to the prize at the end. When the fatigue of waiting sets in and we become disheartened, it’s the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit within us that brings relief. We should ask the Lord to give us the patience that leads us to abundant understanding that we not make stupid mistakes in the work that we do to bring glory to Him.
Whatever you set out to do today or even this week, just keep at it, “…for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
