Ah, rain
I like a soft rain. It’s cleansing and nourishing unlike the storm that rages and strips the land of that which is vital to sustain life.
Rain. It improves air quality. When the pollution of sin surrounds us sometimes we need more than to just step out of it. We need to be decontaminated with the washing of the Word.
A relationship with the Word works in very much the same way as the light, refreshing rain. As it falls, it penetrates the hard ground of hearts, softening them in love but providing a strength that keeps us upright when raging winds buffer us from all sides. Nothing is better than the power that comes from the One who said, “Peace. Be still.”
Peter said, “Master, if it’s really you, call me to come to you on the water.” Jesus told Peter to come on. In boldness, Peter stepped out into the storm. But what he possessed within himself was not enough to keep him. Seeing the waves swirling beneath his feet, he began to sink. And Jesus saved him.
Not much happening today. The rain falls, the ground is soggy and there is a storm brewing. Get ready. You can be scripturally sound and still unsteady.
We all have enough faith to sustain us in the light rain but how will you be during the storm?
Use this day to refresh and to regain your strength. Take a break from the convenience of the YouTube, Instagram and Facebook prophets, (after you read this…lol) and turn some pages that you might again, fall in love with the Word.
It will be a blessing to you! That I guarantee.
I know who I was. It was the Gospel that saved me.
Have a great Monday, my friends!
