“Do not judge by appearance [superficially and arrogantly], but judge fairly and righteously.”
-John 7:24

I listened to a sermon as part of my study this morning. It was about how we look at other people from a different perspective. What I learned is that when I see you coming, it’s easy to make assumptions but I really can’t tell where you’re going or even where you’ve been, until I hear your sound.

I thought that was cool. The object always following the sound. Creation didn’t begin with an object. It began with a sound and that sound was God’s voice.

So, I happened upon this verse in Matthew 7. While I get that we probably shouldn’t pass judgment on a body at anytime, fact is we do. Now we know a better way. We have to teach ourselves to wait for the “sound.”

How about you today? Are you listening to for the sound? The sound that created it all.

If you want things to change, you’ve got to listen for the sound. Want a better homelife, change the sound. Want a better career, change the sound. Want better worship…I think you get the picture.
God has already created it. You just need to release it.

This devotion certainly didn’t end the way that it started. Most things seldom do. I reckon that midway through, the sound changed.

Have a great Friday, my friends!
