The enemy desires to get you into a cycle. He is much more patient than you are. He will work to meticulously prepare for you before he strikes. It’s all about you. If he can get you there, he knows that you will turn from the urgings of the Spirit of God.

Now, if you recognize it at all, it will be in the form of self-doubt, self-righteousness and self-love.

He is attacking you spiritually but it is affecting you mentally. There were warnings. It’s in the noise. Negative, subduing, LOUD. It didnt take long. Your mind was changed. Soon, your heart changed. And the Bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart so is he.”

To you it’s busyness. “Who cares anyway?” “If I don’t do it, who will.” “I am the only one doing anything.” Yeah, that’s what Elijah said and God told him get out of his pity party. Then He showed him 7000 who had not fallen to Baal. I’m as guilty of it as anybody. Trust me. You are not the only one.

But here’s what I’ve learned. The main objective of the enemy is to keep you from hearing the Spirit. He has invested hours, days, maybe even months or years into your chaos by disruption and discouragement. Still, he knows that one word from the Lord will invoke change immediately.

If you’re struggling with some of this today, here’s your word from the Lord. Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Call to Him.

So, shut it down. All of it. The cell phone, the music, even the sermon after sermon that you’re watching hoping for the breakthrough that never comes. Let the Lord reveal some things to you.

You have to dampen the noise if you want to hear from the Spirit.

Have a great Thursday!
